Why should you adopt a rescue animal?

Rescuing is an incredibly rewarding act of kindness that gives an animal a better life without supporting the cruel and greedy pet store industry.

Adopting a pet helps to reduce the number of animals in shelters and rescue organizations, and gives these animals a second chance at life.

By adopting a pet from a rescue organisation, you free up space for more animals to be helped. Most shelters and rescues are always full or even over capacity. For every animal adopted, they are many more waiting to take its place.

Shelters and rescue groups are more than happy to help you through the introductory period because they care that the animal goes to a happy home. They will give you all the advice you need to make sure that your new pet is properly cared for, and settles in well.

If more people adopted pets instead of buying them, the number of pets euthanized would be much so much lower.

If you adopt a rescue animal, they are generally already sterilised (and vaccinated), making sure that your pet won’t accidentally add to the pet overpopulation problem with an “oopsie” litter.
